Charlene Yong Jia Hui was a student of Bedok Green Primary School from January 2011 to December 2016. Charlene is a passionate and committed member of the Choir who has displayed leadership qualities and has made significant contributions to the school.

Charlene shows commitment during practice sessions and always comes early for choir practices. She exercises responsibility in learning her parts, putting in extra effort in her facial expression and is always focused in learning from the conductor.

As the Alto section’s leader, she helps to guide her section members during morning sectionals and takes the initiative to help her juniors who are not sure of their parts during combined practice. She is also generous in sharing her notes and learnings with her section members, especially with her juniors. Her peers and juniors respect her as their section’s leader as she leads them by being a good role model and passionate singer. She is also respectful towards her teachers and fellow choir members. She listens to instructions well and is polite to her conductor and teachers.

Charlene was auditioned and selected to take part in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation in 2014 and 2016. She played an important role in helping the school achieve Certificate of Accomplishment in 2014 and Certificate of Commendation in 2016 respectively as an alto voice.
As a good team player, Charlene shows understanding towards the challenges faced by her fellow choir members. Instead of looking down on those who are struggling to learn new parts, she will guide them patiently. She is sensitive towards the needs of others and cares for the well-being of her team members.

Her passion and strong commitment to the Choir is an inspiration to her fellow choir mates. This helps to build a strong bond among the choir members. Being a good team player and committed student, Charlene is a valuable asset to any school Choir.
